Synopsis of the Role

Our Quality Assurance Analyst - Senior will work amongst the QA team to evaluate user stories, develop manual test plans, write and design automation scripts to ensure quality control standards are achieved.  We need a Quality Automation Analyst who will be successful in growing, developing, and implementing automated testing solutions to maximize testing coverage and reduce test cycle time.  We are looking for a team leader who embraces the Agile mindset which includes positive attitude, thirst for knowledge, goal of team success, pragmatism and a willingness to fail. 

What you’ll do

  • Lead complex testing efforts, estimating time and resources. 

  • Define test environment configuration. 

  • Define test cases outside of user-defined requirements and perform testing of applications, focusing on functional and end-to-end testing, validating that system response and output accurately reflect business requirements as outlined in requirements document. 

  • Recommend changes to existing testing methodologies. 

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and development team to plan and and assist with user acceptance testing.

  • Identify and resolve test environment issues. 

  • Perform defect analysis, identifying trends and recommending process improvements.

What experience you need

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field 

  • 5-7 years of software testing experience

  • Able to create and review test cases according to specifications

  • Created test strategies and plans

  • Led complex testing efforts or projects

  • Participated in Sprint Planning as the Test Lead

  • Collaborated with Product Owners, SREs, Technical Architects to define testing strategies and plans.

  • Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred

  • Attention to Detail - Define test cases outside of product specifications; Create thorough and accurate documentation of all work including status updates to summarize project highlights; validating that processes operate properly and conform to standards.

  • Collaboration - Collaborate with Product Owners and development team to plan and and assist with user acceptance testing; Collaborate with product owners, development leads and architects on test strategies and plans.

  • Execution - Create application or product test strategies and plans based on product specifications and record these in JIRA and/or Zephyr; Work with teams on E2E testing strategies and plans against multiple product integration points

  • Quality Control - Perform defect analysis, in-depth technical root cause analysis, identifying trends and recommendations to resolve complex functional issues and process improvements

  • Quality Focus - Review test cases for complete functional coverage; Review quality section of Production Readiness Review for completeness; Recommend changes to existing testing methodologies for effectiveness and efficiency of product validation; Ensure communications are thorough and accurate for all work documentation including status and project updates

  • Risk Mitigation - Work with Product Owners, QE and development team leads to track and determine prioritization of defects fixes
