Key responsibilities


Within shipping and logistics pro-active communication and information flow towards our customers is the key in ensuring end-to-end connectivity and transparency.

Daily order management and execution

  • Owning the order scale as delegated by the LCL & FCL Order Management team lead.
  • Monitor new order inflow and the assignment of a transport plan by the operations team.
  • Update revenue for the ordered services at time of booking, and manage any accessorial costs – with customer approval (subject to agreed SOP) – prior to billing in accordance with the terms of the order.
  • Accrue cost for any overseas delivered services in the Maersk network, and ensure the ICB billing is timele closed and cleared.
  • Accrue vendor cost and work closely with our Finance teams to review incoming vendor invoices and dispute billing not in accordance to agreed contracts or cost incurred from errors or deviations in handling not caused by Maersk or the customer.
  • Close system files on-time after careful review of the revenue estimate and billed, and proper accrual of cost.

Timely and effective handling of exceptions in execution

  • Work with the operation team on ensuring proper communication and visibility to transport plans, and changes to same as a result of changes to cargo readiness or transport plan changes.
  • Monitor transport from pick-up to delivery (to/from the Port and via CFS), and provide timely system updates while ensuring the visibility is timely shared with customers via offline updates or system connectivity.

 

Applying improved processes and continuous learning to increase efficiency and effectiveness in daily work

  • Remain on top of all activities during the week by organizing work to always been on top of the order management
  • Participate in relevant training offered and apply knowledge of automation and digitization in the customer booking and shipment tracking process, and internal file management, to increase control and productivity.

Your profile

  • Preferably prior experience working in a service company (B2B or B2C) managing orders and/or execution of orders.
  • Relevant educational background aimed at a career in the maritime industry, logistics and/or supply chain operations
  • Experience in LCL and FCL operation is an upside, but not a requirement
  • Background in working with order management systems, preferably for transportation services (e.g. CargoWise1)
  • Good skills in communicating directly with customers and third-party vendors and a customer focused mindset.     
  • Ability to prioritize and structure work on orders executed following   a timeline spanning days or weeks.
  • Ownership mentality of the work performed, and a strong ambassador for Maersk’s products and values
