Purpose:
To maintain power systems in accordance with APM Terminal procedures and to monitor and operate Reefer containers in accordance with client's requirements. This includes traditional power connections as well as UPS, inverter, and solar power systems. Reefer connection to power and temperature monitoring.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main responsibilities of a Reefer Power Technician are as follows:
- Comply with all APMTAL policies and Safety requirements.
- Carry out any task allocated.
- Managing and maintaining connections to UPS, inverter, and solar power sources.
- Power monitoring and switching for public supply and generators
- Receive the Reefer at the Reefer Section and connect them to power.
- Compare Reefer settings according to manifest requirement and report discrepancies.
- Report immediately any malfunction noticed during their duty shift, including issues with power systems.
- Monitor the condition of live reefers, paying close attention to power supply and consumption.
- Perform Pre-Trip inspection (If required, when Terminal is responsible for such function).
- Download Reefer Data from Reefer Runner when required (If required, when Terminal is responsible for such function).
- Ensure safety, first to himself and other workers working in the Reefer Area, perform Job Hazard Analysis and take all necessary safety precautions.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Good communication skill. English
- OND/ HND/BSC Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in operating and monitoring of Reefer containers, maintaining UPS, inverters, and solar power systems
- knowledge of Power monitoring and switching for public supply and generators
- Should have a high-quality focus and knowledge of electrical safety standards
- Should have knowledge of international electrical standards.
- Requires the ability to keep work area organized, neat and efficiently planned
