A Day in the Life
Our Mexico team, part of the larger Prologis’ global accounting department, oversees the analysis and reporting of FIBRA Prologis, FIBRA Terrafina, and Prologis Mexico, under USGAAP, IFRS, and local reporting. As a Manager of the Reporting team, you will lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with IFRS for the Mexico public entities and various joint ventures, and coordination of accounting policies, technical accounting research and special projects. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and interacts directly with senior leadership, playing a vital role in enhancing the quality and consistency of our financial information, document transactions, and contribute to process improvements. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires adaptability, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role works under the guidance of the Financial Reporting Director and interacts with stakeholders across the organization to support internal and external reporting obligations and business insights in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities Include
External Reporting
- Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes, supplemental, and operational disclosures in accordance with CNBV and IFRS requirements.
- Oversee the quarterly and annual CNBV/BMV disclosure filings for FIBRA entities.
- Ensure that key accounting policies, controls, and procedures are well documented and compliant with IFRS.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- - Act as a bridge between the Mexico accounting team, Prologis global accounting, and other business units.
- - Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership to resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring technical clarity and practical application.
- - Provide timely and clear communication to internal customers and decision-makers.
Technical Accounting & Special Projects
- - Assist in the research and documentation of technical accounting issues and business transactions.
- - Liaise with external auditors, coordinate audit requests, and ensure audit readiness.
- - Lead or support global and regional accounting projects, including systems enhancements and new accounting initiatives.
Team Development & Operational Excellence
- Support development and mentorship of junior team members.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity.
- Promote alignment with Prologis business goals, finance principles, and operational excellence across the team.
- Demonstrate and promote Prologis’ values and Finance Leadership Principles in day-to-day interactions.
Building Blocks for Success
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5–7 years of experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred). Experience with real estate and international experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and BMV/CNBV regulations. US GAAP knowledge is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, advance level in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Organized and self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working across diverse teams and with senior stakeholders.
- Communicates complex technical matters clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrates initiative, ownership and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Capable of managing projects and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Committed to mentoring and developing junior team members, contributing to team alignment and operational excellence.
- Strong aptitude for financial systems and IT tools.
Relevant
- Familiarity with Mexico public entities (e.g., FIBRAs).
- Experience operating in matrixed or global organization with regulatory complexity.
- CPA/CPC license (or in progress)
