Senior Broker

Job Description

A Senior Environmental Insurance Broker focuses on placing insurance policies that help businesses manage environmental risks and liabilities. These risks can include pollution, hazardous waste, and other environmental exposures that could lead to costly cleanups, regulatory penalties, or litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Consultation
  • Assess clients’ environmental risk exposures (e.g., manufacturers, real estate developers, energy companies).
  • Advise on suitable insurance products (e.g., pollution legal liability, contractor’s pollution liability, site-specific coverage).
• Insurance Program Design
  • Customize insurance solutions tailored to the client’s environmental risk profile.
  • Structure policies that may include coverage for:
    • Sudden and gradual pollution events
    • Cleanup costs
    • Third-party bodily injury or property damage
    • Mold or asbestos risks
• Placement
  • Negotiate coverage terms, limits, and pricing with insurance carriers.
  • Use market relationships with underwriters in both domestic and global environmental insurance markets.
• Renewals & Claims Support
  • Manage renewals and ensure ongoing policy effectiveness.
  • Assist clients during claims processes, ensuring compliance and smooth communication with insurers.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Oversee junior brokers or account managers.
  • Train staff on environmental insurance trends, regulatory updates, and client management.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 5–10+ years in insurance broking.
• Licensing: Must hold relevant licenses
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of underwriting, claims, and policy structures.
• Negotiation and Sales: Ability to secure the best terms for clients.
• Communication: Clear and professional with both clients and insurers.

CRM/Tech Savvy: Familiarity with broker management systems and digital quoting tools

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
