Position Summary

Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician: Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers.

The purpose of this position is to manage, assist and coordinate activities of workers engaged in
maintaining, repairing, installing or modifying all equipment and machinery in the plant.  This includes
building maintenance and fabricating or modifying parts.


Job Functions:
• Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance of all
machinery and equipment.
• Assist, in hands on manner when necessary, the diagnosing and troubleshooting of malfunctions
in machinery and equipment.
• Direct workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing machinery and equipment.
• Develop, maintain and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage and maintain a work order system including the elevation and assignment of tasks along
with coordination of workers and materials required to complete the tasks.
• Identification and requisition of required spare parts.
• Establishes or adjusts work schedules and procedures to meet production schedules.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints and work orders to workers and assigns tasks.
• Works with and establishes good communication channels through all levels, this includes
holding or attending meetings.
• Estimate time, cost and manpower requirements for completion of tasks.
• Suggest method to improve efficiencies in maintenance and production along with improvements
in equipment performance and quality of product.

Initiates and suggest plans and methods to motivate workers to better achieve work goals and
tasks.
• Record and maintain records of assigned work orders, including status, time required and
manpower. 
• Write and submit reports when required.
• Provide training to maintenance and Production personnel where appropriate.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.
• Attend training classes and seminars and travel when required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of Industrial Mechanical & Machinist Maintenance experience with hands on
knowledge of machinery, basic electrical and electronics with an understanding of machine control
systems.
• Proven ability to direct and lead workers.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours during catastrophic failures.
• Be reasonably available for call ins during catastrophic failures.
• Must have a valid GA Driver’s License.
• Certificate by trade school or equivalent work experience related to industrial electrical
maintenance.

peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
