Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college graduate to fill the position of Entry-Level Financial Services – Management Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in the life insurance distribution business.

Over 12 months, trainees rotate through key departments across our life insurance, annuities, and wealth management businesses. They will gain hands-on experience, strategic insights, and mentorship from our leadership team, firm owners, and advisors in the field all while contributing to real projects that drive Lion Street’s success.

This position will be based out of our headquarters in downtown Austin, TX and will require an in-office presence Monday-Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Rotate through our core departments in our life and wealth business, completing department-specific projects and responsibilities.

    • Marketing – Contribute to campaigns, digital strategy, and brand messaging.

    • Sales – Learn recruiting process, research potential clients, and understand the value of financial products.

    • Case Management – Learn end-to-end policy process, tracking, and client service.

    • Finance & Accounting – Gain insight into premiums, commissions, and financial reporting.

    • Annuities – Explore fixed, indexed, and variable annuities and how they serve retirement goals.

    • Case Design / Advanced Markets - Develop customized insurance and wealth strategies.

    • New Business – Understand onboarding, policy issuance, and operational workflows.

    • Sales Operations – Support CRM optimization, pipeline analytics, and sales initiatives.

    • Underwriting – Observe risk assessment, decision-making, and underwriting guidelines.

    • Broker Dealer & Wealth Management – Dive into advisory services, compliance, and holistic planning.

  • Complete curriculum to receive life insurance licenses and securities that will be sponsored by Lion Street.

  • Visit and work with local Lion Street firms and their advisors to understand all aspects of the business.

  • Support senior team members in client interactions and relationship management.

  • Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to enhance industry knowledge and skills.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.

  • Conduct research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Provide administrative support as needed, including documentation and record-keeping.


Primary Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in the life insurance industry and eagerness to learn.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
