National Sales Manager (NSM) will develop and maintain strategic relationships with assigned national and regional accounts, understanding their business strategies, and developing Uponor opportunities for profitable growth. The NSM coordinates with Uponor regional sales teams on the communication and execution of national account strategies in local markets. The NSM represents Uponor at key customer events, industry conferences, and trade shows. The ideal candidate for this role will be located in the Midwest, East, or Southeast market.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with assigned national and regional accounts, understanding customer business strategies and how Uponor best supports them. Identify opportunities for profitable growth within each account and successfully pursue them to close. Expand the network of contacts within assigned accounts, continually developing Uponor advocates across functions.
  • Successfully negotiate contracts and rebate programs with management and Legal support that align with Uponor strategies and budgets. Collaborate with Sales Operations and Finance in program administration and payment.
  • Coordinate with Uponor regional teams on the communication and execution of national account strategies in local markets.
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to successfully achieve revenue and profit growth objectives. Ensure opportunities are fully detailed in Salesforce.com (when possible) to inform the Demand Plan. Document all account activities and contacts in Salesforce.com
  • Effectively represent Uponor at national account events, to include customer events, industry conferences, and trade shows.
  • Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives; performs other duties as assigned.

What will you need?

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree coupled with 8-10 years direct industry experience, or equivalent related experience.
  • Proven experience in the construction industry at the national level with some or all of the following: developers, homebuilders, contractors, manufacturers’ representatives, or wholesale distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience with effective contract negotiation and collaboration with Legal and Finance.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including basic P&L understanding.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A self-starter with strong independent work skills including organization, prioritization and project management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment.
  • Frequent travel required (75% monthly).

Preferred

  • Sound technical understanding of plumbing and hydronic systems.
  • Familiarity with contract law applying to manufacturing and distribution agreements.
