We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled Mining Engineer to join our Short-Term Planning team. The role:
Reporting to the Senior Short-Term Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in developing safe and efficient mine designs and schedules across a planning horizon from daily to three months, incorporating drill and blast inputs and applying your technical expertise to ensure practical and effective planning. In this dynamic role, your work will support frontline teams in delivering production safely while maximising operational value
Preparing and delivering short-term mine plans and schedules that optimise safety, productivity, and cost.
Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure mine designs are executable and aligned with production goals.
Contributing to the design and execution of drill & blast plans.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
Building strong working relationships with both technical and operational teams.
About you:
Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a mining environment.
Exposure to or understanding of short-term planning and drill & blast principles and their application in day-to-day mining activities (is desirable but not essential).
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across departments and organisational levels, supported by excellent communication and collaboration skills
A proactive problem solver with a passion for applying experience and lateral thinking to develop practical solutions, along with a strong desire to grow technical capabilities and expand planning expertise.
Experience with mine planning software such as SPRY, Deswik, Vulcan, or similar CAD-based platforms.
