Responsibilities:
- Schedule Casters on dies according to Production Manager instruction for scheduled work
- Using die board instruct Die Setter as to what dies need ran and in what order.
- Ensure first articles are run and timers set for Casters when new dies are set up.
- Ensure, by paperwork, that Casters are using all jigs, fitters and screens for each die.
- Help solve problems on dies.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed on new dies.
- Inspect and sign off on all produced racks before they are put in dryer.
- Maintain quality and integrity of parts.
- Report any mechanical or electrical problem to Supervisor or Maintenance.
- Assist Supervisor to ensure all employees in the casting department follow safety rules and regulations. If a problem arises report to Management ASAP.
- Maintain forklift certification.
- Maintain a safe & clean work area: clear walkways, excess water off floors.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Participate in a review of performance for your area, this will include: Accuracy of Synchrono reporting, Output performance by individual, Output performance by department, Proactive safety data base reporting
- Routinely patrol work area to observe quality, and advise/coach accordingly
- Actively participate in Quick Kaizens following customer complaints or high scrap
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, twist, lift, stand, push and pull material
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
- Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skill
- Highly motivated
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
- Job training for this position is provided
