The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Kansas Hospital and Cancer Center is recruiting a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Our division is comprised of four gynecologic oncologists with additional outpatient and inpatient advanced practice providers, and an accredited gynecologic oncology fellowship (one/year - 3-year fellowship). We have grown an expansive clinical trials program, actively recruiting to investigator-initiated, NRG, and NCI-based clinical trials ranging from early to late phase, being one of a few institutions with gynecologic oncology physician led early phase trials. We have congenial working relationships with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, genetic counselors, division specialist pharmacists, palliative care physicians and surgical oncologists. The selected physician will join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which includes over thirty faculty, twenty-one residents and seven fellows to provide evidence-based quality care.The University of Kansas Cancer Center is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Gynecologic Oncology Division has a long track record of excellence in patient care and promotes an environment for professional mentorship. The practice is active both clinically and academically, with a very busy surgical schedule, sizeable clinical trials portfolio and cutting-edge translational research opportunities. Educational conferences include tumor boards, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal clubs, and weekly didactic opportunities.

Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Clinical effort will be in the range of 50 - 80% in combination with work in other academic and service missions for a 1.0 FTE position.
Maintain a gynecologic oncology practice. Write referral letters and documentation for patient records as appropriate.
The patient-care duties will involve training of medical students, residents and fellows.
Provide lectures as assigned to faculty, fellows, residents and students.
Initiate and participate in research studies, as well as quality improvement programs related to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the subspecialty of Gynecologic Oncology.
Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the institution.
An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Required Qualifications:
Education: MD degree from an accredited medical school.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Certifications/Licenses: Board certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology, eligible for Kansas and Missouri medical license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Work Experience: Experience in gynecologic oncology with experience in minimally invasive surgery highly desired.
