Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and customer-focused Senior Collections and Credit Analyst to join our Credit & Accounts Receivable team. This hybrid role is responsible for managing credit risk and driving collections performance across a portfolio of B2B customers in the truck leasing and rental industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial credit analysis and collections, with the ability to balance risk mitigation and customer satisfaction through strategic collaboration and data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing B2B customers using financial analysis, credit scoring tools, and industry data.
• Recommend and establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms in alignment with company policies and risk appetite.
• Manage a high-volume portfolio of accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables and minimize bad debt exposure.
• Monitor customer accounts for changes in financial condition, payment behavior, and industry trends, and take proactive action as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Legal to resolve billing disputes, structure contracts, and support customer onboarding.
• Partner with Sales to identify customer trends and behaviors that present opportunities to better meet customer needs and improve customer satisfaction.
• Recommend credit holds, escalations, or write-offs based on risk assessments and payment history.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files, collection notes, and internal reporting.
• Support month-end close activities, including AR aging analysis, bad debt forecasting, and audit documentation.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of credit and collections policies, procedures, and automation initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional training and process improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial credit and collections, preferably in the transportation, leasing, or rental industry.
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and B2B collections strategies.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and credit reporting tools (e.g., D&B, Experian).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
