Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, we want you to join our team as a Principal Technical Editor and Writer (3) / Sr. Principal Technical Editor and Writer (4). This position is located in Palmdale CA.
Responsibilities
You will write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
You will also acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
You will negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, relay, and receive information and collaborate in a team environment
In a Scrum master role, you will work under a production schedule, oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts
Conduct quality review of materials and will mentor and/or instructs junior writers
You will be querying authors for clarity and compliance purposes and must be skilled in Microsoft Word, MS excel, and PowerPoint
Basic Qualifications:
LEVEL 3: Must either have a High school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience; or B.S. or B.A. degree (Technical or Professional Writing, English, or Communications) and 5 years of relevant experience; Masters with 3 Years experience or PhD with 1 year
LEVEL 4: Must have a High school diploma or equivalent and 12 years of relevant experience; or B.S. or B.A. degree (Technical or Professional Writing, English, or Communications) and 8 years of relevant experience; Masters with 6 Years experience, or PhD with 4 years
Experience in technical editing and writing and have strong writing and editing skills, including ability to manipulate usage and grammar
Experience with SGML
Experienced in aviation or aerospace industry
Experienced in file configuration management
Must be a US Citizen with current DoD Secret clearance and ability to maintain clearance
Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access within 365 days from submission
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
History of collaboration in small teams with different organizations
Experienced with configuration management
Experienced in creating multi-configuration, multi-effectivity indentured parts lists from engineering data
