We’re seeking a Policy and Process Specialist to join our Group Procurement & Property team. This role is essential to modernising and maintaining procurement and property policies and processes that drive compliance, enhance operational efficiency, and align with business objectives.
You will work across a wide network of stakeholders to ensure governance frameworks are user-friendly, fit-for-purpose, and adopted consistently. By combining strong process thinking with the ability to influence and engage others, you will contribute to a procurement culture that’s built on accountability, trust, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance and Standards
Maintain and improve Downer’s Procurement and Property TDS (Tools, Documents & Standards) to ensure policies and processes are current, practical, and effectively implemented across the organisation. - Compliance Monitoring
Assist in monitoring and reporting on policy compliance across business units, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions. - Stakeholder Engagement
Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including executives and cross-functional teams, to promote adoption of procurement and property standards. - Process Development
Support initiatives to modernise and streamline procurement and property processes, ensuring alignment with Downer’s strategic priorities. - Training and Communication
Provide guidance, training, and clear documentation to help stakeholders understand and apply governance frameworks consistently.
What You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3–5 years’ experience in Procurement Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or a related governance/process role
- Proven experience working in large, complex environments with corporate-level suppliers
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and present confidently
- Excellent attention to detail and policy/process development capabilities
- High level of organisational and analytical skills, with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement
- Ability to work across functions and levels to embed best practices and support business needs
