The Sr. Manager Legal - CAS is responsible for providing legal and strategic advice, as well as functional and commercial support for the Central, Andean, and South subregion (“CAS”), which includes the following markets: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Chile and Peru. This position primarily targets  Chile market but also supports other CAS subregion markets based on business needs. 

This role provides expert legal counsel on complex, long-term commercial agreements and, acts as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring legal excellence in client engagements, strengthening long-term relationships, and identifying opportunities to drive value.

Responsibilities include legal counseling to internal functional areas, and leading the drafting, negotiation, and execution of various civil and commercial agreements, including master lease agreements and other complex contracts, in compliance with company guidelines and the local telecommunications legal framework. 

  • Manage contact and negotiation with high-level executives and legal directors of ATC’s clients across CAS, with focus on Chile Market, and maintaining the day-to-day relationship.
  • Partner closely with the Sales Directors, Key Account Managers and Account Managers to structure, negotiate, and close complex commercial transactions.
  • Identify legal risks and opportunities in new business initiatives and provide actionable guidance to enable growth.
  • Develop, advice and review all types of revenue-generating agreements with clients. The Senior Manager Legal – CAS must collaborate with creative and nimble proposals and recommendations per timing and needs of negotiation, to resolve gaps and disagreements that may arise during a negotiation, to close deals within the timing requested or planned.
  • Develop deep knowledge of existing revenue-generating agreements with clients and other relevant public or private stakeholders, as well as clear understanding of industry commercial landscape (considering political, social and commercial aspects).
  • Draft, negotiate and execute master lease agreements, and civil and commercial agreements, with the objective of safeguarding the interests of the company and minimizing risks per applicable laws as well as ATC’s internal policies.
  • Provide legal advice to all departments of the company consolidating the position as an in-house multi-specialty manager with a strong knowledge of matters related to the telecommunications sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Compliance, Operations, Litigations) to ensure alignment and execution of client strategies.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments that may impact clients, the industry or ATC’s business and advise accordingly.
  • Answer legal queries from internal clients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide support in the development of new business contractual models.
  • Partner with Human Resources team and Senior Management to recruit, develop and retain staff. This includes on-boarding and orientation for new hires, if needed.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with specialized external law firms according to business needs. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Local Law degree. LLM in commercial or corporate law preferred. 
  • Expertise in corporate law, contract drafting and negotiation, and with preferred updated knowledge of the current legislation on telecommunications, administrative, municipal and any other business-related applicable rules. 
  • Experience spearheading projects with no supervision.
  • At least 10 years of work experience in a multidisciplinary top tier law firm or in similar management positions in multinational companies with preference to telecom related companies.
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish is required.
