Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM (No weekends or holidays)
Job Summary:
The Registration Specialist facilitates patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This role is responsible for obtaining financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement and clinical outcomes. Key duties include scheduling appointments, interviewing patients, explaining departmental and hospital policies, validating and entering charges, and collecting payments. The specialist also answers incoming calls and directs patients and visitors appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments and collect relevant medical information.
Explain charges, policies, and procedures to patients.
Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems.
Collect payments and ensure accurate financial documentation.
Answer and direct incoming calls and assist patients and visitors.
Maintain professionalism and accuracy in all patient interactions.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
Familiarity with interpreting insurance information and medical terminology preferred.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
