Head of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Job Description 

 

• Lead development of AI/ML models for predictive analytics, forecasting, and contextual marketing across business units.
• Supervise end-to-end data science lifecycle from problem formulation to actionable storytelling for decision-making.
• Guide model development to enable early risk detection, opportunity identification, and business performance monitoring.
• Innovate with machine learning and NLP models to analyze customer digital footprints and behavior patterns.
• Provide advanced analytics and insights for customer retention, ARPU growth, and digital engagement improvement.
• Enable digital product strategy by mapping customer digital DNA and predicting churn, affinity, and elasticity.
• Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable outcomes for commercial, marketing, and S&D teams.
• Manage dashboards and self-service BI tools to empower teams with near real-time data for strategic decisions.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and digital/OTT partners to align data-driven strategies.
• Lead and develop a high-performing data science team through coaching, performance management, and capability building.

Academic Qualification

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field

Job Experience Required

• 10 -12 years of experience in a relevant Data Science and Machine Learning fields

Required Capabilities

• Thorough knowledge and Insight into the Telecom industry, Competition behavior and understanding of commercial aspects
•  Through knowledge and expertise in business analytics and predictive modeling
• Strong knowledge on scripting and programming skills in SQL and Python/R
• Advance knowledge on accessing data in traditional data warehouses as well as big data tools 
•  Thorough knowledge with data visualization tools such as Microstrategy, Tableau
• Advance knowledge in applied machine learning using ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, Spark ML 
• Advance knowledge in the application of data science use cases - segmentation, behaviour modeling, lifetime value and personalized recommendations is strongly preferred
• Strong project planning and management skills
• Strong knowledge on agile development methodology is preferred
