The Sterile Processing Technician III decontaminates surgical instruments and equipment as well as inspects and assembles surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs.  Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings.   May deliver case carts to surgical floor. Assists in recordkeeping and monitoring equipment operations.  Identify and reports supplies, equipment, and procedure problems.  May assist in the orientation and continuing training of other Technicians. Capable of making department section decisions in the absence of a Lead.

Required Qualification:

  • Completion of a formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged course test.
  • Required within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
  • Required within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
  • 5 years Related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital sterile processing/central service environment required.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
