The Account Director plays a hybrid role: managing a small portfolio of strategic accounts while also leading a team of Account Managers. This player/coach role ensures delivery excellence, drives team performance, and maintains strategic visibility with high-impact clients. Account Directors contribute to team operations, staffing decisions, and evolving the post-sale playbook. This role reports to the Head of Customer Success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Coaching:
- Mentor and support a team of Account Managers and/or Coordinators.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
Strategic Client Management:
- Own a small number of top-tier accountsServe as the escalation point for complex or high-stakes issues.
- Represent Locala in senior client conversations, including executive QBRs.
Team Operations & Delivery Oversight:
- Ensure campaigns across the team are meeting client objectives and delivery SLAs.
- Monitor workload balance and resource planning.
- Ensure campaign processes and tools are being followed and iterated on.
Performance Management:
- Track team KPIs: campaign health, renewal rates, client satisfaction, and retention.
- Analyze underperformance and coach individuals or refine workflows.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner with Sales, Product, Planning, and Ad Ops to resolve blockers and advocate for team needs.
- Participate in client strategy sessions and roadmap alignment discussions.
Team Culture & Communication:
- Foster a high-performance, feedback-rich, and collaborative team culture.
- Lead team meetings, goal-setting sessions, and training initiatives.
Your profile:
- All candidates must be based in either EST time zones
- Over 6 years experience in the Ad Tech/Digital advertising field
- Strong understanding of Media Agency landscape
- Knowledge of digital tracking solutions (i.e DCM,, IAS, MOAT, Nielsen, etc.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize
- Ability to self-manage, juggle multiple priorities & meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient in analyzing large datasets and prioritizing them into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills
- Client facing experience
- Relationship builder and driver – proven aptitude to connect with large partners, start-ups, executives
- Comfortable with a start-up environment, open to facing interesting challenges globally with a problem-solving & resourceful mindset
