Job Description: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical procedures within the Pathology Laboratory, including but not limited to, embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining.  

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) (or awaiting CSMLS/CMLTO approval)
  • Hospital Grossing and/or recent IHC experience asset
  • Experience with and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice 
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of initiative and, organizational skills
  • Evidence of participation in continuing education 
  • Good understanding of microanatomy
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer software applications
  • Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in histology 
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
