About the Position: The Fixed-Income Business Analyst will provide operational support to the trading desk, sales, and back-office with a focus on fixed income securities such as MBS, ABS, CLO’s, CMBS, Munis, Corps, and Treasuries. This role is critical in ensuring accurate trade capture, smooth settlement processes, and data integrity across a plethora of trading systems used across the firm. The Business Analyst will leverage deep expertise in Bloomberg TOMS, fixed income products and trade operations to facilitate efficient trade lifecycle management, supporting the Firm’s broader mission of delivering excellence in fixed income strategies across the various trading systems and workflows.
Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:
Trading Operations & System Support
- Serve as the operational liaison between the trading desk, sales and back-office functions, ensuring seamless trade flow from execution through settlement across all the systems.
- Provide hands-on support in Bloomberg TOMS, including trade entry, book setup, configuration of security masters, and troubleshooting trade discrepancies that may occur across various system integrations.
- Maintain and enhance TOMS workflows to support trading strategies, including integration with both internal and external systems such as Pershing NetX360, and various electronic trading venues (ECN’s).
- Ensure accurate trade booking in TOMS, NetX360, and ShadowSuite, our finance system of record, for downstream P&L attribution and reporting.
- Assist in reconciling trade blotters, resolve breaks, and ensure compliance with Pershing’s clearing and settlement requirements.
- Support trade operations team with exception handling in coordination with Pershing, custodians, and counterparties.
- Provide support to Trade Management Team for pricing requests and trade allocations and complex ticketing workflows in the Agency MBS space.
Process Optimization & Documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve post-trade workflows and propose enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve transparency.
- Maintain detailed SOPs for trade support procedures, system usage, and escalation paths.
- Collaborate with technology teams and third-party vendors on system enhancements, UAT testing, and process automation initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with traders, sales, finance, compliance, finance, trade operations and technology teams to address operational issues and implement solutions.
- Provide timely support during market hours, particularly during peak trading activity and month-end processes.
- Ensure timely resolution of trade-related issues and clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

- 3–7 years of experience in trade operations or trade support, with a strong focus on fixed income products. Prior trade-floor experience a plus.
- Direct experience with Bloomberg TOMS, including administrative functions such as user and trade book configuration, trade input, and workflow troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of security master reference data; specifically fixed income securities (Agency MBS, Non-Agency MBS, ABS, CLO, Munis).
- Strong understanding of the fixed income market structure and trade life cycle from trade entry to settlements.
- Familiarity with FINRA TRACE & MSRB reporting.
- Familiarity with DTCC CTM and trade allocation process.
- Familiarity with Pershing as a clearing and custody platform; understanding of clearing and settlement best practices. Experience with Pershing’s NetX360 platform a plus.
- Understanding of fixed income corporate actions such as call events, bond maturities, monthly principal & interest payments.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using SQL, Power BI Report Building a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (sorting and filtering data, V-Lookups, Pivot Tables)
- FINRA Series 7 licensed (if not currently licensed, must obtain license within reasonable time of employment)

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $125,000-$140,000. This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however, may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
