Job Description Summary
The Compliance Leader for Power China will run all aspects of our compliance program across the region for the Power business Segment. This role will also support compliance initiatives and needs for the broader GE Vernova company. This includes prevention, detection, mitigation and corrective action. The role will report to the Compliance Leader for Power’s Asia Pole. The role will engage business leaders and managers at all levels of the organization to influence culture, increase employee engagement, and engage in strategic risk management.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for understanding the business, organization, relevant industry regulations, and internal policies and procedures
- Design and implement the compliance strategy for the China Power business.
- Work directly with the China Leadership Teams and stakeholders (e.g. CEO, CFO, GC, Commercial Leader etc) across all business units to drive leadership engagement, hosting Compliance Review Boards, supporting business strategic initiatives
- Drive the Compliance Culture across the China Region – ensuring compliance is viewed as a foundational pillar, employees are aware of the program, policies and procedures
- Support the execution of commercial focused compliance through third party due diligence risk management, risk mitigation, introduction of new markets or new market strategies,
- Ensure compliance controls are effectively operational, aiding the central program team in implementing new requirements or addressing monitoring gaps as necessary.
- Support the Open Reporting program by assisting in investigations (e.g., approvals) and collaborating with the open reporting team on trend analysis and risk identification, ensuring high standards of program excellence and responsiveness to employee concerns in line with NRC regulatory requirements.
- Provide support and expertise in critical matters such as government investigations, high-priority legal investigations, monitoring and internal audits.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments for the China region; develop and implement mitigation plans across the global business.
- Project and Fixed Facility Site visits on an as needed basis to support the implementation of compliance culture, processes, and controls at the site.
- Continually review and evaluate laws and regulations and their impact on the businesses in China. This would be inclusive of compliance related trends, risks and gaps. Identify and construct a strategic response and lead improvements where required.
- Provide business level support on the implementation and execution of the Compliance Enterprise Standards, training, communications, monitoring outcomes or data analytics requests.
- Assist with the broader Power Compliance teams on business-wide objectives, compliance related duties, special projects, and initiatives to support the overall compliance program as self-identified or directed.
- Assist with compliance-related duties across the other businesses in the GE Vernova portfolio as directed.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree with at least 10 years work experience
- Strong motivation to work in the compliance area
- Ability to indirectly lead teams and projects, experience leading team and projects in previous roles
- Ability to work with and influence all levels of the organization from c-suite leaders to process and program owners.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned projects and tasks
- Interview and investigative skills
- Ability to locate and analyze facts to determine relevance
- Interacts, communicates and works effectively with business and other team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent interpersonal skills and personal accountability
