To remain a recognized leader, we are seeking a Material Handling Specialist/Forklift Operator that is a motivated self-starter, dependable and team-oriented to provide the best customer experience. We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, attention to detail and time management. This position is responsible for providing support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products. This position will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics and assisting in other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business. Forklift Operators will be trained in several departments. Duties may vary to include some or all of the following job responsibilities.  

Role Responsibilities:

• Operate a 5000 lb. forklift to move over-sized material for shipping & receiving, and to supply production lines.
• Tire racks are 81.5” W x 56” D x 81” H- these are transported double stacked and can weight up to 2000 lbs. per rack
• Wheel pallets are 8’ W x 3’ D x 8’ H – these are transported single stacked and can weight up to 4000 lbs. per pallet
• Verify incoming shipments for exact item, accurate counts, and the condition of materials.  
• Verify outgoing orders for accuracy of paperwork, proper build, and correct materials.
• Complete all the necessary shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Arrange product for storage or pick up in accordance with instructions.
• Communicate with all internal departments and personnel via e-mail or phone to provide status of material movement activity, especially regarding critical situations. 
• Perform physical inventory counts as required and assist in reconciling discrepant material. 
• Understand the daily work schedule and delivery requirements to achieve on time delivery. 
• Safely operate yard jockey for the moving of trailers around the lot, including backing into and out of docking bays.
• May be asked to assist on production lines when needed.
• Always maintains a clean and safe work environment by sweeping, cleaning, and removing trash.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What Tredit Tire is looking for:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred. 
• Forklift experience is required. 
• Experience in all areas of warehouse operation is strongly preferred: shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
• Proficiency using a computer and data entry.
• Knowledge working with Syspro or similar ERP software preferred.
• Knowledge of tire and wheel industry desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, including good judgment in dealing with competing priorities, limited resources, and time pressure.
• Ability to operate a computer and associated software applications. 
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of oversight. 
• Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner.
• Ability to quickly learn company products and terminology.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
