We are looking for an Operational Excellence manager to join our Operational Excellence team in Ocean Operations in the Global Execution Center. It is an opportunity to join our team at a time when we are implementing new standards and identifying opportunities to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives to the greater benefit for Maersk and our customers.
You are a visible driving force for operational excellence and eager to lead the work on standard operating systems, visual management and root cause analysis – all critical components of operational excellence The Maersk Way. You are a great collaborator and effective in working with colleagues across the world and across functions to drive change.
Key Responsibilities:
You will lead the work on our standard operating system consisting of several standard meetings and visual management. You will take over the current implementation and development efforts and be responsible for structural feedback to continuously improve the operating system and visual management. You will also be working closely with the rest of the team to perform various root cause analyses. This will include collecting data and information from various sources and also working with global analytics teams to standardize and automate root cause analysis efforts.
The key responsibilities are:
Operating System and Visual Management:
Globally own the design and implementation of an Operating System consisting of several standard meetings at regional and global levels. Gather and review feedback, and identify opportunities to improve meeting effectiveness, visual management, and root cause analysis.
Ensure there is a clear link between Operating System, Visual Management Systems, and Metrics.
Determine critical handovers up- and downstream impacting the performance and effectiveness.
Analytics:
Use data analytics to perform root cause analysis for relevant topics.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisions.
Project Management
Be involved in or manage cross-functional projects or workstreams aimed at improving operational performance. This can for example include data gathering to define problems, data analytics, data/information flow mapping, workshop preparations, and others.
Collaboration and stakeholder management
Work closely with other teams and functions (e.g. Ops TbM teams, Network teams, GPL teams, other Excellence teams) to identify improvement opportunities and align initiatives with overall business goals/strategy
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective operations
Who we are looking for:
Experience from operational roles and/or operational excellence roles
Can work independently: comfortable taking lead, and working independently on tasks while still ensuring alignment with the rest of the team and priorities
Analytical thinking: ability to analyze (complex) operational data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions
Collaboration: able and comfortable to work cross-functionally.
Adaptability: able to thrive with a certain level of ambiguity and adjust
Language: Fluency in written and spoken English.
