POSITION TITLE: OEM Strategic Account Manager 

REPORTS TO:  Vice President of Sales, Marketing, & Business Development 


POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: 

The OEM Strategic Account Manager will develop, direct and implement strategic sales plans and related functions for identified customers and markets consistent with growth and profit objectives. 


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Maintain close personal contact with assigned strategic customers and prospects. 
  • Proactively identify new opportunities and work collaboratively to develop new products and programs at existing and new strategic customers, converting these into long-term relationships. 
  • Manage communication pipeline by proactively working with engineering, product development, marketing, quality and purchasing teams both at Kondex and with customers to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Develop yearly forecast and account plans for each account, monitor progress, and recommend changes, as necessary.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, educational seminars, and customer events.
  • Provide the company with timely and accurate market and competitive information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and future industry trends.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required to include sales calls and regular updates.

Position Challenges:

  • Identifying and implementing new opportunities for current customers and new customers/markets.
  • Meeting sales and profit objectives for targeted accounts.
  • Competing for internal resources and justifying new business projects.

  • None

Organizational Relationships:

  • Primary internal customers:  Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, Manager of Sales Administration & Analytics, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, Marketing.
Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Five or more years of demonstrated sales success with large OEM’s.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree.
  • CRM experience preferably Salesforce.
  • Market research and/or technical sales experience.
  • Strategic planning experience in a growth environment.

Travel: Required Domestic and International Auto & Air Travel, up to 50% of the time.
