Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for performing regular repair and preventative tool maintenance, troubleshooting production tooling problems, and assisting with the introduction of new tooling and processes into production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes assigned preventative maintenance tasks on time
- Works with the manufacturing engineer and production staff to assist in root cause determination of tool related issues. Specific responsibilities include tool maintenance logs and tool recommendations to improve process quality
- Ensures that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times by applying 5S principles
- Wears proper protective equipment
- Complies with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties. May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require
- Address sustaining problems with tool/process improvement recommendations and/or engineering change requirements submitted through the area Manufacturing Engineer
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to operate measurement tools including scales, micrometers, and calipers
- Ability to operate basic hand tools such as screw drivers, drill drivers, hammers, etc
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to assemble off engineering drawings
- Knowledge of basic machinery design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Microsoft Office
