Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per yearThe Assistant to the Head of School (Art) will provide high-quality academic leadership and operational management within the Art Department. The role will support the Head of School – Creative, Performance and Digital Arts – in delivering excellence in curriculum planning, teaching, learning, assessment, and learner outcomes. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of staff, resources, and student experience within the Art Department, aligned with the strategic goals of the College.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management- Take operational responsibility the Art Department teaching and support staff, ensuring consistent application of policies, effective communication, and staff development.
- Support the Head of School in delivering the curriculum strategy and key performance indicators for department
- Oversee the completion of effective Annual Performance Reviews for all members of the department, working in conjunction with the CTL.
- Coordinate the departmental timetable, curriculum delivery models, and staffing rotas in collaboration with central teams.
- Embed and model the College values and promote an inclusive, ambitious, and collaborative culture within the department
- Monitor the budget for the department and work with colleagues to ensure purchasing of resources is efficient and timely

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant degree in Art or related subject
- Recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 5)
- Line management or team leadership experience
