We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Technician who will play a pivotal role in supporting the facilities infrastructure for our headquarters in San Diego. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who will support Element’s growth by ensuring that all facilities are fully operational and properly maintained to deliver best-in-class workplace environments and experiences, all while handling a variety of other responsibilities at a rapidly growing company. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in facilities maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and/or electrical. This role is a non-exempt position and will report to the Sr Facilities Manager on-site at our San Diego headquarters.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of facilities including mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems while under supervision
- Perform inspections and report on conditions affecting operations
- Report and/or fix potential safety hazards to avoid employee injury
- Respond to emergencies such as plumbing issues (leaks, clogs), electrical issues (tripped breakers, lighting failures, lockouts, spills, etc
- Review and understand building equipment and methods of operations including BMS system, Fire/life safety, etc
- Attend trainings as required for Building Management System, Access Control Systems, Security Systems, etc
- Collaborate with Operations, Lab management, and EH&S to support scientific operations (e.g., assisting instrument setup/breakdown, lifting, and placing of machinery/instruments).
- Maintain accurate and organized records
- Other duties as assigned such as mount white boards, patch and paint, pallet breakdown, stocking supplies, etc
Education And Experience:
- High school diploma or GED with more than 5 years of relatable experience
- Certificates not required, but nice to have
- Experience within the Life Sciences industry is preferred
- Experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and/or electrical preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Customer service oriented
- Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
- Willingness to learn and expand skillset
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds
- Support after hours building needs and activities as required

Travel:
- Domestic travel up to 10%
Job Type:
- Full-time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Base Compensation Pay Range:
- $41/hr - $50/hr
In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
