We are seeking an Executive Director Mentor to join our Northside Program. As an Executive Director Mentor, you will Shine Hope as you impact the lives of children and families through mentoring to the Buckner Children and Family Services Houston Executive Director related to internal leadership, local networking/engagement, and facilities management aligned with Buckner’s Standards of Integrity. The ED Mentor will provide insight to the Houston ED in effectively leading and managing under pressure, thinking strategically, and implementing strategic initiatives. The ED Mentor will provide insight into local growth and development of new and existing community networks and partnerships. The mentor will provide perspectives on safety and emergency response in Houston. Mentoring sessions will be delivered in a hybrid mode, using both in-person and internet based meetings between the Mentor and ED. . Join our team and shine hope in the lives of others!
What you'll do:
- Provide guidance in developing and maintaining highly effective communications across a synergistic culture to foster collaboration between programs and teams.
- Provide guidance in how to lead the execution of exceptional business standards with regard to overall client and employee experience and building strong teams. Review how to deliver and how to help ensure staff deliver excellent customer service.
- Help develop skills to be a source of inspiration for team members in guiding them to deliver exceptional performance to inspire growth and to achieve business objectives.
- Provide guidance on how to maintains a pulse on community and client expectations and identifies and shapes strategic initiatives to improve relationships and experiences aligned with business objectives.
- Provide guidance on how to build and maintain strong relationships both individuals and groups in the community.
- Provide guidance and skills in the development of financial resources required by BCFS to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance for facilitating and coordinating projects in regard to the monitoring, safety, preventative maintenance, repair, and pleasing aesthetic appearance of area facilities in alignment with Buckner branding.
- Provide help in developing skills to represent Buckner to local community constituencies, churches, processional organizations, and government agencies as directed.
- Provide guidance and insight on collaborative leadership that brings together a highly synergistic culture at the local level toward achieving outcomes that align with Buckner strategic initiatives. Will also indicate how to work with local functional program leaders to mutually support respective leadership roles and program objectives.
- Provide guidance and insight on how to best represent Buckner to local community constituencies, donors, churches, professional organizations, and government agencies as directed. Help to develop skills and relationships in collaboration with Development staff, engage donors and prospective donors; collaborate with Communications staff to represent Buckner through engagement with churches, businesses, social clubs, government entities and other groups as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree in Social Services, Education, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Leadership or a related field preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years successful experience in children and family services program administration and 5 years proven business management and personnel management experience.
- Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
- Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
