The Role
Petra is seeking a Vice President or Director of Business Development to lead West Coast strategic sales efforts focused on private equity, credit, and other alternative asset managers. This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for a fund finance banker, capital advisory professional, or credit originator looking to leverage their industry knowledge and relationships in a commercial, growth-oriented platform.
The successful candidate will drive Petra’s west coast expansion by sourcing and converting new GP relationships and positioning our services as trusted infrastructure for fund managers.
Key Responsibilities
· Originate and close new business with PE/Credit firms and other alternative asset managers
· Leverage a network of GP CFOs, COOs, and finance leaders to drive pipeline activity
· Build credibility and trust through a deep understanding of fund structures, capital flows, and operational demands
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term client satisfaction
· Represent Petra at industry events and networking forums
· Maintain CRM discipline and report on business development KPIs
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
· 5–15 years in fund finance, capital advisory, structured credit, or related fields
· Familiarity with subscription line lending, NAV facilities, GP financing, and related liquidity solutions
· Strong understanding of fund operations: capital calls, LP reporting, and fund accounting cycles
Skills & Strengths
· Relationship builder with a network across GP finance teams
· Clear and confident communicator — able to translate complex topics into value propositions
· Highly organized and self-directed, with a track record of business development success
· Comfortable managing a pipeline and using CRM tools
Salary Range
At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
