Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Reston-based networks and Linux systems.

  • Select, design, install, configure, and maintain Linux-based hardware architectures and frameworks.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads on Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Optimize cluster performance, ensure security, and automate operations for scalable and reliable applications.

  • Set up Cluster Operators, Machine Configurations, and Infrastructure Nodes for optimal performance.

  • Define and manage Projects to organize workloads efficiently.

  • Configure service mesh (Istio, OpenShift Service Mesh) for secure communication between microservices.

  • Deploy OpenShift and Kubernetes metrics monitoring.

  • Manage configurations with Infrastructure as Code.

  • Enable GitOps workflows for declarative infrastructure and application management.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration/platform engineering, with a focus on Linux and Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding of network devices and operating systems.

  • Proficiency in OpenShift and Kubernetes container management.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE, CKAD, or equivalent are preferred.

Desired:

  • Experience with OpenShift Cluster Deployment & Configuration in on-prem environments.

  • Experience with Kubernetes Namespace & Resource Management.

  • Experience with Container Orchestration & Workload Management.

  • Experience with Security & Access Control in containerized environments.

  • Experience with Persistent Storage & Data Management in OpenShift.

  • Experience with Monitoring & Logging using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.

  • Experience with CI/CD & Automation for OpenShift using OpenShift Pipelines.

  • Experience with Troubleshooting & Optimization of Kubernetes clusters.

  • Additional certifications or training in container management and orchestration.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$103,800 - $218,100
