Description

Position Title: Site Safety & Health Officer, Level 1 (L1 SSHO)

 

Area of Requirement: Primary MTF site with oversight for safety at all supported MTF locations.

 

Scope of Position:

Manages the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program for all O&M work performed under the task order, ensuring EM 385-1-1 and OSHA compliance and providing site safety coverage.

 

Tasks and Capabilities Required:

Develop and implement Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses.

Conduct safety inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action follow-ups.

Maintain training compliance for safety-related requirements.

Coordinate site safety coverage for remote locations.

Ensure emergency preparedness and response procedures are in place and followed.

 

Mandatory Experience and Certifications:

OSHA 30-hour training.

24 hours formal SOH training in past 5 years.

5 years’ cumulative safety experience in similar projects.

Must meet EM 385-1-1 L1 SSHO qualifications.

 

Preferred/Desired Certifications:

English Level III and Japanese Level III proficiency (direct or via bilingual technical staff).

 

Special Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
