Description

Summary:  Design mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical products, equipment and services.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design (Large and Small Assemblies Modeling and Design)
  • Modeling and 2D detailing
  • Develop simple assembly models from concept
  • Develop designs of medium complexity from concept
  • Develop full machine assemblies from concept
  • Integration of full machines into large system assemblies
  • Manipulate and handle large system assemblies
  • Integration of new Vendor parts into assemblies at all levels
  • Item Master generation (Part Numbers) and Product Structure creation (Bills of Materials)
  • Integrate Bills of Materials on multiple levels into machine assemblies
  • Change/Update/Edit items and structures within (PDM) Product Data Management system to correct issues
  • Estimate Project and Product Costs
  • Manage a CPD Equipment Product line in a PDM system
  • Develop mechanical design concepts, calculations and data bases within a managed CPD product line.
  • Work across CPD product line areas to design associated CPD product line areas.
  • Utilize mechanical design knowledge to develop solutions to requirements in new Applications and Sales opportunities.
  • Develop hydraulic and pneumatic systems and solutions for design applications
  • Design of linear and rotary drive trains for specific applications
  • Development of mechanical drive systems and solutions for design applications
  • Responsible for major R&D Projects
  • Create estimates on Engineering project hours, scope and timeline
  • Work with Customer care Parts Sales on parts research, sales of aftermarket parts and retrofits and conversions as full Engineering Projects.
  • Assist Applications, Sales, and Service
  • Service troubleshooting, developing solutions to field problems
  • Supporting Sales in new and innovative product line solutions, cost estimates, sales and applications oversight in product line.
  • Participate in new product development within product line
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Contribute to team effort.
  • Travel up to 20% -  Customer Care and Sales field support
  • Understand Divisional Product line sufficiently to support Customer Care and Sales in the field
  • Understand Industry concepts sufficiently to take part in competitive field surveys
  • Closely assist Service on equipment service and troubleshooting issues.
  • Work with Customer care Parts Sales on parts research, sales of aftermarket parts and retrofits and conversions as full Engineering Projects.

Education and/or Experience:

  • P.E. (Professional Engineer license) preferred
  • 10 or more years relevant experience
  • Experience with PDM and Manufacturing software systems preferred
