Salary Range: $58,082.75 – $66,718.83, commensurate with education and experience
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – Ward 5 Office & Remote)

Now, we’re looking for a Finance Specialist to join our growing team ! Someone who is as committed to accuracy and compliance as they are to making a difference.
In this role, you will oversee accounts payable management, vendor relations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. You’ll collaborate with Budget Managers to deliver accurate program budget reports, coordinate with vendors and our accounting service provider, and ensure our financial systems (e.g. Anybill, Expensify, and QuickBooks), run smoothly and efficiently. From invoice processing and contract compliance to audit preparation and workflow improvements, you’ll be at the center of our finance operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily AP operations, processing invoices, and reconciling vendor accounts
- Delivering monthly budget and expense reports to department leads
- Assisting with annual audit preparation and maintaining financial compliance with GAAP
- Improving processes using advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards)
- Supporting financial forecasting, expense tracking, and grant-related reporting

Qualifications
We’re seeking someone with:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- At least two years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping
- Proficiency in financial software (Anybill, Expensify, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in financial data analysis
- Excellent communication skills to partner effectively with non-finance staf
- A proactive, problem-solving approach and commitment to confidentiality
