As a Cook, you'll prepare food on a large scale under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor, following established menus and USDA guidelines. Our ideal candidate is passionate about nutrition and food service, has experience in large-scale food preparation, and demonstrates strong communication, reliability, and creativity in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain daily logs for refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher usage
Ensure food meets specified standards and record compliance for each meal
Coordinate daily menu, including thawing and preparing frozen meat
Minimize food waste and efficiently utilize leftovers
Follow menus and document substitutions or adjustments
Prepare and deliver snacks, noting any changes
Clean equipment, dishes, and work areas; restock cafeteria
Report equipment issues to supervisor
Communicate effectively with coworkers and departments
Track and communicate supply needs to management
Prepare and serve meals per established menus and nutritional guidelines
Assist with meal cleanup and proper storage of leftovers
Prep meals for the next day and special events as requested
Maintain records of menu substitutions and contribute to menu planning
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of one year of employment history in a food service setting preferred
Basic understanding of nutrition is beneficial
Required License/Certification:
Current driver's license with acceptable driving record
Current auto insurance
Successful completion of First Aid training
ServSafe certification
Additional Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of large-scale food preparation and cooking methods
Ability to read and write simple correspondence and follow safety regulations
Adaptability, initiative, reliability, and creativity
Effective communication and report writing skills
Basic math skills and ability to follow directions and accept supervision
