What you'll do
In your new role, you’ll engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions. You’ll be working within a feature team and using your extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that are often complex, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.
You’ll also be:
- Producing complex and critical software rapidly and of high quality which adds value to the business
- Working in permanent teams who are responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
- Collaborating to optimise our software engineering capability
- Designing, producing, testing and implementing our working code
- Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment and operations
This role is ring-fenced for the India Career Fair 3.0 Programme. The hiring manager is inclined to hire internal talent from other business units.
The skills you'll need
You’ll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers.
You’ll also need:
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in full stack software design and implementation, capable of leveraging programming languages to solve complex problems.
- At least 7 years of experience working with development and testing tools, bug tracking tools, and wikis.
- Expert in coding with Java 17 and above, with experience in microservices/API development using SpringBoot, and containerization using Docker.
- Expert in TDD/BDD frameworks like Cucumber/Selenium to ensure code quality.
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres and MongoDB.
- Skilled in using CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab/GitHub, and deploying on AWS Kubernetes clusters using Helm Charts.
- Exposure to cloud deployment, preferably on AWS.
- Experience with KAFKA/MQ or any other event-driven framework.
- Experience in implementing programming best practices, especially around scalability, automation, virtualization, optimization, availability, and performance.
- Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies, and associated toolsets like JIRA/Confluence.
- Good collaboration skills with the ability to work with business teams to produce pragmatic solutions that work for the business.
- Awareness of information security policies and practices within the financial sector.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts in a simple way.
