The Opportunity:

As a Legal Assistant in the WSU Division of the State Attorney General’s Office (WSU AGO), you’ll play a key role in supporting assistant attorneys general (AAGs) and helping to coordinate litigation and office operations. You’ll be trusted with confidential information and expected to use sound judgment and discretion when interacting with the public. If you have a strong grasp of legal terminology, court procedures, and pride yourself on being highly organized with sharp editing skills, this could be the perfect fit for you. Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent and five (5) years of clerical or secretarial support experience OR any combination of relevant education and experience totaling five (5) years.

  • A completed bachelor’s degree may count for up to four (4) years of clerical or secretarial support experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Legal assistant/support experience in a law or governmental office OR equivalent education; in-house training may be considered for exceptional applicants.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs or the demonstrated experience to learn such programs.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible/ineligible.

Monthly Salary:

$3,750.85 - $5,397.56 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU’s Administrative Professional Compensation.
