Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the development, organization, implementation and efficient operation of Mohegan Sun’s Private Events and Promotions in addition to assisting with the operations of Public Events and Consumer Promotions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Interviews, trains, supervises, coaches, counsels, disciplines and issues performance reviews to assigned Events staff
- Assists the Support Operations Department with interviewing, training, and coaching of Marketing Leads and Marketing Crew including recording and issuing discipline and Performance Appraisals.
- Assumes the role of Manager on Duty at all events as assigned.
- Responsible for directing Support Operations Supervisors, Marketing Leads, Marketing Crew, Ushers, Security, Banquet Staff, Housemen, and Entertainment staff as needed for event operation.
- Oversees and tracks all Support Operations staff variances during events for accurate payroll.
- Coordinates with partnering departments to ensure warehouse deliveries, IT Requests, Event Staffing Requests, Event Rosters, etc. align with event schedules to ensure successful execution
- Interfaces with operating departments to ensure that event details and operating procedures are communicated throughout the company such as Banquets & Conventions, Entertainment, Purchasing, I.T., Slots, Table Games, Cashiering, and Food & Beverage to ensure their support for events.
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of marketing programs, guest information and databases
- Adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department, Public Safety, Surveillance, and the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Commission
- Submits rules and regulations for all events and promotions to Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority to ensure execution for compliance purposes and additionally offers assistance to other departments in order to complete rules as needed.
- Oversees all stages of event development, implementation and execution for a large number of events per year, including but not limited to, gaming tournaments, gift and cash giveaways, tier events, Galas, Asian Marketing events, seasonal promotional programs, and floor wide and targeted promotions.
- Coordinates and executes promotional requirements and serves as a liaison between Marketing departments, operations, external agencies, affiliated promotional sponsors and other areas, as required
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicates all event and promotion information to assigned staff
- Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements for events
- Ensures department processes meet regulator statues
- Assists with resolving event and promotion-related disputes
- Maintains accurate records and assists with project tracking, monthly analysis and other support
- Maintains an extensive database of event related vendors
- Assists Support Operations as needed and other departments/duties as assigned
- Develops Legal Review Requests to create contracts with vendors and performers.
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience in the day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted event management firm or in the gaming/hospitality industry.
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- In lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, five (5) years of supervisory experience in the day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted event management firm or in the gaming/hospitality industry may be considered

- Knowledge of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
Training Requirements:
- Knowledge of purchase request review and approval with enterprise supply-chain management application
- Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training classes
- Knowledge of Cognos, Avatar Event Management System, ACSC Casino Management System, Meeting Matrix, Salesforce Space Management Systems and SharePoint
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun’s Time and Attendance & Payroll systems
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office work environment
- Event/promotion execution environment
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and customer interaction
- Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Travel may be required for this position
- Must be able to work various shifts, flexible hours, weekends and holidays
