Salary Range starting at: $10.15 per hour
Job Overview:
As the Angel Tree Coordinator, you will coordinate the Angel Tree program in (location) by working with community leaders, churches, businesses and donors.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the Angel Tree Committee in drafting the Angel Tree brief for the upcoming year including, but not limited to a budget, all media needs, partnerships both corporate and individual, calendar dates and times, and fundraisers.
- Work with Community Relations to manage online adoptions
- Collaborate with Community Relations and Development to build new relationships with churches, businesses, and donors in the community.
- Prepare the intake website and clearing house website for the current year
- Work with corps officers to develop and present intake training
- Resource and support the corps officers for intake and distribution
- Maintain the inventory and organization of all Angel Tree supplies
- Coordinate the arrangement with 2 Men and A truck to help transport supplies and gifts to the corps for distribution, as well as back to the EDS facility after distribution.
- Organize and lead the debriefing meeting following distribution
- Review and amend all letters, documents, emails, etc for the following year so they are current with the upcoming year
- Facilitate meeting with the corps officer and divisional statistician to ensure accurate Angel Tree statistical reporting.
- Prepare a report to be shared with the Advisory Board and media following Angel Tree Distribution
- Prepare any presentations, special events and be willing to present and/or answer questions, and invite corps officer
- Manage the list of current partnering agencies
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: One to two years’ experience planning and organizing large social services events highly preferred
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
- Able to work in very fast-paced conditions while meeting or exceeding deadlines
- Able to evaluation options and recommend or make independent decisions when necessary
- Must be able to drive a minivan and/or a 12-passenger van
Supervisory Responsibility: Recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers

Physical Requirements Include:
- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity

Travel: Local travel required
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a varied setting, such as office, warehouse, medical facility, church and in a vehicle. May require some weekend and evening work
