Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Vision Plus Architect specializing in Incident Management to lead the design, oversight, and support of critical banking applications within our enterprise environment. This role ensures robust application stability, incident resolution, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement while supporting both production assurance and development activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in application architecture, incident handling, deployment, and system planning, and will contribute to maintaining high availability, business continuity, and operational excellence.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Vision Plus core banking systems or similar banking platforms
- Proficiency in incident management tools and processes (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
- Experience with application deployment, configuration management, and release activities
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and ITIL framework
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for production support (e.g., Shell, JCL, or similar)
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP) relevant to production and disaster recovery
- Monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, AppDynamics) and performance tuning tools
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production assurance activities, including incident resolution, real-time communication, UAT support, and deployment for Vision Plus applications
- Oversee application maintenance, encompassing code reviews, disaster recovery, business continuity, documentation, and release management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for impact analysis, high-level and low-level design, and architecture review
- Develop and implement architecture strategies, data models, and high-level design specifications
- Support performance testing, system implementation, post-implementation support, and configuration management
- Ensure adherence to SLA and RCA processes, manage escalations, and coordinate crisis resolution
- Drive automation initiatives and optimize production processes to improve reliability and operational efficiency
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, reports, and compliance with organizational standards
- Support adhoc tasks such as system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises
Technical Skills (By Category)
Application Architecture & Incident Management:
- Essential: Vision Plus core system architecture, incident handling, disaster recovery planning, application deployment, and configuration management
- Preferred: Experience with supporting other banking platforms and automation tools
Programming & Scripting:
- Shell scripting, JCL, or similar for automation and troubleshooting support
Databases & Data Management:
- Knowledge of underlying database structures used within Vision Plus or similar platforms
Cloud & Infrastructure:
- Cloud migration and management (AWS, Azure, GCP) – preferred
- Infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) – preferred
- Monitoring and performance tools (e.g., CloudWatch, AppDynamics) – preferred
Tools & Frameworks:
- Incident management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy)
- Release management platforms and version control systems
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience supporting banking applications, especially Vision Plus or comparable systems
- Proven experience in incident management, disaster recovery, and application maintenance in enterprise environments
- Strong background in application architecture, support, and crisis management
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and supporting large-scale production applications
- Experience supporting banking or financial services products is highly preferred
Day-to-Day Activities
- Manage and resolve production and UAT incidents, coordinating with support teams and vendors
- Lead and participate in crisis calls and incident escalations
- Oversee disaster recovery exercises and business continuity drills, ensuring readiness
- Develop and review architecture designs, impact analyses, and high/low-level system specifications
- Support release activities, impact assessments, and environment configuration
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
- Document incident resolutions, configuration details, and architecture updates
- Implement process improvements for support workflows, automation, and system reliability
- Engage in ad-hoc tasks like migrations, account purge, and system upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Advanced certifications in ITIL, disaster recovery, or banking systems architecture preferred
- Extensive experience in core banking systems (Vision Plus or equivalent) support and architecture
- Proven ability to lead support teams in high-pressure, cross-region environments
- Continuous professional development in enterprise architecture and disaster recovery best practices
