Data Engineer - 6-months Fixed Term Full Time Role

At 4WD Supacentre, data plays a central role in driving our strategic decisions and shaping our customer experience. As we continue to scale nationally, we are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Marketing Analytics team on a fixed-term basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

About the Role

Reporting to our Business Development Manager and working closely with our data team, you will be responsible for delivering robust reporting, insightful analysis, and operational data solutions across marketing and retail functions.

You will work with large datasets, leveraging SQL, BigQuery, and ETL tools to ensure data is clean, accurate, and ready to drive decision-making. You'll collaborate with a range of stakeholders to enhance the business's knowledge base and support revenue-driving strategies.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Build and maintain dashboards and visual reporting tools to support cross-functional teams
• Develop and manage datasets that deliver clear visibility into retail performance
• Conduct regular and ad-hoc analysis to support marketing and business objectives
• Use ETL tools and scripting to clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources
• Ensure consistency and data integrity by collaborating with BI and analytics stakeholders across the business
• Operationalise data capture processes to streamline reporting and support scalability
• Provide strategic input into data architecture, documentation, and system design
• Support the integration of new data sources as systems evolve
• Contribute to the success of marketing campaigns and strategic projects through data-led insights

About You - Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 3 Years Big Query and 5 Years in SQL.
• Familiarity with DataForm / Looker Studio / Composer (Highly regarded)
• Strong experience with ETL tools, data modelling, and data transformation
• Comfortable working with large, complex datasets to produce business-ready insights
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex data
