Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
1. Grade Control Management:
1.1. Employed to collect QC samples in the production pits, stockpiles and any belt sampling at the plant, crusher and load out area (including sampling of finished product onto the trains).
1.2. Ensure proper sample collection according to SOPs in place and accurate recording of sample data for dispatch to the laboratory for assay.
2. Data Collection and Analysis
2.1. Assist with the marking up of ore blocks ahead of mining to provide accurate data for extraction of ore.
2.2. Ensure accurate recording of samples collected for analysis.
2.3. Organise sample batches for dispatch to the laboratory.
3. Collaboration with Operations:
3.1. Work closely with the Supervisor/Superintendent Geologist QC, to provide mark-up of mining blocks for daily mining activities.
3.2. Participate in pre-shift meetings to discuss QC and safety
4. Monitoring and Reporting:
4.1. Ensure compliance with QC protocols and standards for sample collection.
4.2. Keep accurate tally sheets of loads and material moved from the source and at the destinations for daily reconciliations (when necessary).
5. Continuous Improvement:
5.1. Identify opportunities for improvement in grade control QC methodologies and practices.
6. Safety 6.1. Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and a team player, ensuring smooth, compliant activities.
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Knowledge
- Minimum of Senior High School Diploma with 1 year of work experience.

• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good oral and written communication skills and a strong commitment to working in a safe and socially responsible manner.
• Ability to work in a multiple-task environment and properly assign priorities.
• Structured thinker, high level of Intuition.

Working Conditions
• Remote working area and often in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and very challenging terrains.
• Exposure to noise, dust and vibrations from drilling activities.
• Strict adherence to PPE usage (hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, reflective vests, and protective boots).
• Constant compliance with safety protocols to minimise risks on site.
• Rotational shifts, including weekends, nights, and extended hours as needed.
• Requires strength and stamina for lifting and carrying samples and equipment.
Health and Safety
1.1. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and procedures.
1.2. Participate in health, safety and environment training programs to understand potential hazards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
1.3. Report any health, safety and environmental concerns, incidents, or near misses promptly to the designated supervisor or safety officer.
1.4. Assist in identifying workplace hazards and participate in risk assessments to minimise risks to personal health and safety.
1.5. Wear appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks or environments and ensure that it is maintained and used correctly.
1.6. Be familiar with emergency response procedures, including evacuation routes, assembly points, and first aid protocols.
1.7. Follow established safe work practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines.
1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents.
1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviours and reporting unsafe conditions.
1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety.
1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy and regulations.
Environment
1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.
1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.
1.3. Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.
1.4. Uphold a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance within the organisation by setting clear expectations for incident reporting and response at all levels.
1.5. Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
