Requirements
We are looking for a dynamic and highly experienced Head of API Sales & Business Development to lead our global generic API business in regulated markets. This leadership role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing strategic customer relationships, developing new markets, and ensuring sustainable profitability in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in API sales and Business Development.
- Strong track record in regulated markets for generic APIs.
- Experience in portfolio management, pricing, and global market development.
- Ability to travel internationally for business meetings and conferences.
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering; MBA in Marketing preferred.
Job Profile:
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies for API generic products across regulated markets (e.g., US, EU, Japan, Australia, Canada).
- Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities with global pharmaceutical companies.
- Drive B2B partnerships, licensing agreements, and long-term supply contracts.
Market Expansion & Strategy
- Conduct market intelligence to track competitors, pricing trends, and regulatory changes.
- Define short-term and long-term market penetration strategies to expand into new geographies.
- Prioritize high-value molecules based on demand, profitability, and portfolio fit.
Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and agents.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by closely coordinating with manufacturing, QA, regulatory, and supply chain teams.
Pricing & Negotiations
- Develop competitive pricing models and ensure profitability in line with business goals.
- Lead contract negotiations ensuring favourable terms for the organization.
Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
- Work closely with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure timely dossier submissions, DMF filings, and approvals in target markets.
- Ensure compliance with USFDA, EMA, TGA, PMDA, and other regulated market requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a global sales & marketing team.
- Establish clear KPIs, sales targets, and performance metrics.
- Foster a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
