QA/QC Mechanical Inspector

Position Summary

QA/QC Mechanical Inspectors will Inspect, test, sort machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications and may use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Qualification Highlights

· Must have 3+ years’ experience working as Mechanical Journeyman

· Must have 2 years’ experience as Mechanical Foreman or above.

· Must have Mechanical experience

· Must be able to Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications.

· Must be familiar with API and ANSI pumps

· Must be familiar with large reciprocal compressors 

· Must be familiar with hermetic "can" pumps 

· Must possess extensive knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes.

· Must be able to meet all physical requirements.

· Must be able to work at heights in excess of 300 ft.

· Must have all required tools.

· Must have reliable transportation.

Position Responsibilities

· Read and interpret blue prints, manuals, and specifications.

· Inspect and test material installations, work for conformance to mechanical specifications.

· Provide information regarding processes and specifications to mechanical supervisors and other appropriate members.

· Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.

· Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.

Required Qualifications

· Must have 3+ years’ experiences as a Mechanical Journeyman.

· Must have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes.

· Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work related contacts.

· Must have Extensive knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.

· Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.

· Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.

· Must be able to work at heights.

· Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualification

· Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.

· Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.

· Experience working as a Mechanical worker on industrial construction projects.

Reports to Position

· This position does not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

· Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.

· Will talk and hear to communicate.

· Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and tools with up to 70 ft-lbs of pressure.

· May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

· Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off of platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements.

· Must have good visual acuity and depth perception.

· Must be able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including in the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.

· Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
