AI succeeds or fails on the quality of its data — and the world’s most valuable enterprise data lives in Oracle databases. Oracle Database 23ai extends that foundation with built-in vector search, in-database machine learning, and unified data services that let developers ship AI-powered applications faster and more securely. Your mission is to make sure every developer knows it, and that development teams within the world’s leading enterprises actively use Oracle technologies to build AI applications.
As Director, AI Developer Experience on Oracle’s Developer Marketing team, you’ll create compelling technical content, engage directly with developer communities (including those within our most strategic customers), and help shape Oracle’s AI product direction. You’ll show how Oracle’s data, cloud, and AI services turn AI noise into real-world application signal, while feeding front-line insights back into our product roadmaps.
Basic qualifications:
- 10+ years of technical consulting experience in senior roles in Solutions Architecture, Developer Advocacy, Software Architecture, or Enterprise Consulting
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks or AI coding assistants in real projects
- Recognized technical leader with deep hands-on experience with relational, vector, NoSQL, or graph databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.)
- You write, a lot. You therefore must have excellent communication and presentation skills, and be able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in at least two of: SQL/PLSQL, Python, Java, JavaScript/Typescript, Go, or similar
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications :
- Experience building developer tools, CLIs, IDE extensions, or workflow automations
- Speaker at major developer conferences; portfolio of high-impact video or written content
- Familiarity with cloud-native patterns (containers, serverless, DevOps) and modern AI architectures
- Contributions to open-source projects that advance developer productivity or data science
Why Oracle?
Impact at scale. Your work will reach millions of developers who build on the data that runs the world’s largest enterprises. This role gives you the ability to exert broad industry influence and build your personal brand, while going deep on Oracle and associated data technologies, seeing first-hand how the world's most successful companies use Oracle for their most demanding AI applications. You will also, in turn, get to shape the entire industry as it turns to AI-driven solutions, while earning a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key responsibilities:
- Show, don’t tell. Produce end-to-end demos, live-coding sessions, and deep-dive tutorials that reveal how to build, deploy, and scale AI applications on Oracle Database 23ai, Autonomous Database, Oracle APEX, OCI AI Services, and more.
- Create binge-worthy content. Publish long-form technical blogs, white-papers, and video series that walk developers through practical scenarios—migrating vector workloads, adding RAG pipelines, or modernizing legacy Java apps with embedded AI.
- Engage where developers live. Answer questions in GitHub Discussions, Stack Overflow, and Discord; host live streams and podcasts; speak at community meetups and major conferences.
- Be the customer’s voice. Partner with development teams at Fortune 500 customers and Oracle’s product teams to pilot new features, gather feedback, and translate real-world pain points into actionable product requirements.
- Expand Developer Marketing’s impact. We believe working code beats slideware. We pair closely with Database, Developer Tools, and OCI engineering, ensuring every line of content maps to shipping features. Success is measured in new AI applications powered by Oracle’s AI technologies and the number of developers who say, “I didn’t know Oracle could do that.”
