Main Purpose:

Marketing the company’s freight and warehousing services, generating sales leads. Analysing client requirements and preparing suitable commercial offers, ensuring profitability. Working in close co-ordination with the customer services and operations teams for planning and contract administration related matters. Assisting the General Manager with analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business development:
  • Generating sales leads by way of prospecting and cold calling.
  • Marketing of the company’s freight forwarding and warehousing services.
  • Focus on developing the freight forwarding book for the company in the middle east region.
  • Developing and managing key clients, shipping lines as well other vendor relationships.
  • Pricing of offers to customers, and competitive sourcing of sub-contracted activities such as freight.
  • Preparing business presentations, quotations and agreements.

  • Contract administration / service delivery:
  • Communicating client requirements to customer-services and operations teams.
  • Plan operations in conjunction with relevant teams for new contracts / orders with special requirements.
  • Provide support to customer services team from time to time in administering shipment files, including logistics coordination and invoicing.
  • Validating and updating service agreements as required.
  • Address customer complaints and assist in claims management.

  • Reports and presentations:
  • Tracking and reporting of container freight volumes as well as profitability.
  • Presenting weekly status update on business development activities carried out.
  • Assisting the Business Development Manager on various commercial matters and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management/ Logistics or related field
  • Master’s degree in business management/ Logistics is a plus
  • 1-3 years of sales experience in the UAE market in warehousing and logistics industry
  • Ability to organize facts and figures to develop budgets
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • UAE Driving License- Mandatory
