Position: Firmware Engineering Co-op/Intern

Location:  Ottawa, Canada

EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currently a candidate for a bachelor's or master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada. 

 

  • Develop and debug embedded software on PetaLinux/RTOS platforms.
  • Automate testing and build processes using scripting tools.
  • Analyze DSP test results and support system validation.
  • Perform lab testing with oscilloscopes and optical analyzers
  • Prepare clear documentation of design decisions, code, and test procedures to support knowledge transfer.

     
  • Solid understanding of C/C++ and embedded firmware development
  • Exposure to scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Matlab) for automation, simulation, and testing
  • Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, or bare-metal programming

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of real-time system constraints, interrupt handling, and peripheral configuration
  • Familiarity with tools like Git, Makefiles, or CMake
  • Familiarity with DSP fundamentals such as sampling, filtering, and frequency analysis is a plus.
