Position: Optical Systems Co-op/Intern

EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Currently a candidate for a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
- Develop and test system-level and component-level test automation platform.
- Conduct experiments and simulations to optimize system performance.
- Analyze and interpret test data to identify and resolve design issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of optical systems into products.
- Document design and verification processes and results.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong Python skills for automation, with knowledge of optical communication systems and methodologies for optical system design and verification.
- Tools & Collaboration: Familiar with Git workflows and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket); effective team player with strong communication skills.
- Analytical Strength: Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and a knack for identifying root causes.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Collaborating in a Git environment
- Experience with optical testing and measurement instrument.
- Experience with database management such as SQL, no SQL or time series database
- Experience in machine learning and large language models (LLM) is a plus.
