Job Title: Student Worker – Box Office/Front of House Assistant – Waco Civic Theatre

Work Schedule: Minimum of 10 hrs a week Tues-Friday 4-6pm OR During showtimes on show weekends dependent on theatre's needs

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/ongoing

Pay Rate: $15/hr

Key Components:

This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. This position is ideal for students interested in hospitality, customer service, or arts administration, enhancing skills in communication and public relations.

  • In a student employee capacity, may assist in working with external community service partners.

Job Description:

  • Work with local organization(s) or community partners
  • Handle ticket sales, reservations, and customer inquiries at the box office.
  • Manage the front of house during performances, ensuring a positive patron experience.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and ushers to maintain order and efficiency.
  • Provide information about shows and answer patron questions.
  • Assist in organizing special events or fundraisers.
  • Assist the Guest Relations Manager with inventory of gift shop items.
  • Provide excellent customer service as a representative of the University
  • May assist with planning, organizing, and implementing community services or programs
  • May assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community projects
  • May contribute to developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners
  • May serve as a source to provide information about resources and assistance related to community program(s) or service(s)
  • May serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community 
  • Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
  • May prepare and present information in a group or workshop setting
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
