The Detailed Roles and Responsibilities of the individual will include:
Role Overview
The Director – M&A Tax will serve as a strategic leader within the KGS Tax, driving the growth and delivery of M&A Tax services for US clients. This role demands deep technical expertise in US Transaction Tax, operational excellence, and people leadership to scale the offshore delivery model. The Director will act as a key liaison between offshore teams and US engagement leaders, ensuring seamless execution, innovation, and client satisfaction.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership:
•Anchor offshore strategy for M&A Tax, aligning with US priorities and expanding service offerings. •Lead business development efforts from offshore, including client pitches, pipeline management, and cross-functional collaboration. •Drive commercial outcomes through pricing strategy, margin optimization, and client relationship management.
Client & Engagement Management:
•Lead complex M&A transactions including tax due diligence, structuring, modeling (e.g., 382, E&P, stock basis, 338(h)(10)), and post-deal integration. •Manage US stakeholders (PMDs, Directors) with high accountability and minimal supervision. •Represent offshore capabilities in client onboarding, governance forums, and strategic reviews.Operational Excellence in Offshore Delivery:
•Own offshore delivery metrics—utilization, realization, quality scores, and client satisfaction. •Implement automation, Gen AI, and process optimization to improve turnaround time and reduce manual effort. •Lead quality standard across operations with zero surprises, ensuring data security and risk mitigation.
Talent Development & Capability Building
•Build a high-performing team with deep M&A technical expertise. •Drive EA/CPA certification across Ms and above, aligned with signer capability goals. •Mentor next-in-line leaders and foster a culture of transparency, ownership, and continuous learning.Roles & responsibilities

·Education: CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) / ICWA; EA preferred ·15+ years in US M&A/Transaction Tax advisory ·5+ years in leadership roles managing client engagements from offshore ·Experience in signing US Tax returns and interpreting US Tax laws ·Exposure to cross-cultural environments and US secondment is a strong advantageKey behavioral attributes/requirements
